Sunny Beaches and Fate: Chapter 2

"There aren't any pickles on my Big Town Hero!!!! I can't live without them!"

"...That's it?" Spoke Melinda, her face not hiding any of the humor she found from Nick's rather overly-dramatic reaction.

"I can't have a sub without pickles! If I don't have pickles I puke! Like this!"

"NONONONONOONOOOOOO!" Screamed Melinda, who hated the very thought of puke.

"Sorry! I don't want to see any puke either! Let's just keep going."

And so they did. The two plodded along the beach, taking in all the sights and sounds with silent reverence, for it was in that way only that the sandy, serene scene that surrounded them could be fully appreciated.

This appreciative silence quickly came to an end, however, as Melinda suddenly spoke from behind Nick.

"Look Nick, I'm the prettiest girl of all!"

Taken aback at first by this rather strange sight, that of a girl with a leaf on her head in a strange pose, Nick quickly figured out a way to understand Melinda's rather obsurd sense of fashion, "Maybe if I look out one eye this'll make more sense...uhh, nope."

I like Sour Patch Kids!!! They make my face go like this!

Sandy Beaches and Fate: Chapter 1

It was a calm, sunny morning on the Oregon Coast, and everything was well.

Seagulls flapped their wings amongst the brisk dawn air, each sounding out in chorus, as if to welcome in this glorious day.

Conincidentally, it was on that very same day that two people decided they should visit this idyllic place. Their names were Nick and Melinda, and they were about to embark on a journey more epic than they could ever have imagined.

After a rather long drive, greatly shortened with the help of good music and conversation, the two arrived at the shore in a lightly wooded area.

The path ahead seemed easy enough: a mildly winding path of dirt and stone that would lead them straight to the rocky shores outside of Newport.

With determination in their eyes and courage in their stances, the two decided to begin their journey of a thousand miles with a single step...

But it was here that their dreams of the perfect day were shattered.

"Don't worry, it's not like there's any crazy animals that live in these woods. I just want to take a quick peek over this log." Nick said with an air of confidence in his voice.

"But Nick..." Melinda began, her face letting off hints of both worry and fear, "I don't wish any harm to come to you. I think it best for us to follow this path..."

Nick giggled because he felt cute, "Haha, I can take on anything, man or beast. Observe my raging biceps!"

Melinda flexed as well,  "Mine are just as large, if not larger, but yet I'd not do such a fool thing as to openly allow myself to be bait for the strange creatures that may lie in wait within this strange place!"

Nick smiled reassuringly, "Dont' worry. I've got everything under control."

After a slight nod from his accomplise, Nick continued on into the thicket.

"See? Nothing to be afraid of. Just...oh! Oh no!! Help, please! Spare me!!"

"Nick!!!" Melinda screamed.
